Camp at 4800 meters

Camp at 4800 meters
A good camp spot close to the border marker and Tupungato Pass. There are plenty of camp options here. Some platforms with rock walls and penitentes and snow to melt and if you're lucky even running water. Cerro Chimbote and Cerro Polleras in the background.
Note: it can be extremely windy here. Make sure your tent is properly pitched.

Yes, and we were lucky to find that spot after a very long day climbing up a dangerous pass. A very high potential for rockfalls. We arrived in this place when almost dark.
