Capitol Ditch Trail

There are excellent views of Capitol Peak very early on the hike of Capitol Ditch Trail. This (zoom) shot was taken within a 1/4 mile of the trailhead.

Using the Capitol Ditch Trail instead of the Capitol Creek Trail is highly recommended (particularly on the return trip) as you avoid approximately 500 feet of steep elevation gain on the hike up and out from Capitol Creek.
