Hey, it's been a while, Britt. Nice job. I wondered when you'd get to this one. I climbed at Chickies a couple times and can probably dig up some route info in the near future. Maybe some photos as well.
Nice job, as usual. Hope all is dandy in Rocksylvania.
It has been a while for me on here. I've been here at school and I have very limited time to get out and even just hike. Luckily Chickies Rock is real close to Millersville its just that I almost forgot that I hadn't added it to sp. I will be adding a couple more pages in the coming weeks as I found two more good spots to check out in Money Rocks (don't know if you've heard of it) and White Rocks on the A.T.
I'm still new to this technical climbing thing so I don't really know what I"m doing in terms of putting things on the page and describing it. Any route info and pics you could add would be greatly appreciated. Well Charles, I hope all is well in the grand mountains of Colorado and you take care! Thanks for the vote!
Hey! Thanks for the nice vote and words. Actually, I'm not sure why it's called Chickies Rock. I looked everywhere and asked quite a few people but didn't get a legitimate answer. The only idea i can give you is that there is a rock formation near the top that sort of looks like the head of a chicken. Not sure though, sorry ! Thanks for the vote though and you take care!
Hey, good page Britt. We vertically challenged have to dig out the rock faces around us. We have a lot of quarzite around here too but mostly concealed in the forests.
Hey Gangolf! Thanks so much. I was vertically challenged a little bit ago and am still new to this vertical climbing garbage. It is fun, but still a little hairy for me. I'm a worry bug when it comes to the possibility of falling. Well thanks again Gangolf and take care!
Thanks so much for the vote Rob. To answer your question, I've looked everywhere and asked everyone to try and understand how Chickies Rock got its name and no one knows. The only reason I can give, is that at the top there is an outcropping that sort of looks like a chickens head. LOL I don't know, but thanks for checking the page out and you take care!

Untitled Commenti climbed at Chick Hill (aka Peaked Mountain) in Maine, so can identify with this cool name. Good addition.
