Chisos Mountains
The Chisos Mountains seemingly rise out of nowhere in the Chihuahuan Desert of Big Bend National park. Here they look squeezed between a cloud layer and the desert.

Somewhat unusually, Casa Grande seems to be the tallest peak on this view, even though it's on the far side and it's shorter than Emory Peak.

January 2010.
