Collared Lizard

Collared Lizards and Chuckwallas were along the ridge and summit area of Ord. We released this little guy unharmed of course.

looking lizard. Did you get picture of his face? I was hoping to see one of these guy when I was in JTree but never did.

Check out the new pictures I put up. There is a one of his face. We saw a one that was double the size of this one.

Just a factoid. Collared lizards can rise up and run on their hind legs, which allows them
to run faster. Coupling speed with large heads
and powerful jaws makes them formidable
predators on smaller lizards, which they
will consume without mercy!
