Re: Most excellentThank you so much, Dean. I was lucky to get started early in the morning and watch the sun creep down the east face of El Cap on a beautiful morning. Having a snow covered meadow in the foreground was a bonus and it made the shot that much more dramatic.

Great Shot Marc!As usual Great Shot Mark! Beautiful photo of legendary Nose route of 1000m/3280 feet high granite mass of El Capitan which was climed in November 1958. I have read in books that Yosemite is one of the most historical climbing locations in the world. It offers an enormous number of routes, on excellent rock, that are always very demanding.
Best regards, Afzal

Re: Great Shot Marc!It sounds that you are very knowledgeable about the history of climbing on El Cap. European walls were climbed for decades before El Cap came to the attention of the climbers of the world. It did not take long after the first ascent of El Cap that Yosemite Valley came to be known as the Mecca of big wall climbing in the world. I have counted up to thirty parties on different routes on El Cap, with most of them on The Nose route, on a nice clear day. I wish I could say something positive about the impact that kind of foot traffic on one route is making, but I cannot. But, El Cap sure makes for great photography.
Thank you very much for the visit and the comment, Afzal,
Marc
