Bruar Water

The Bruar Water is an important drainage outlet for the Hills of Atholl in Perthshire. Near the confluence with the River Garry, the Falls of Bruar are especially magnificent. Historically the Bruar Gorge with it's raging floods was a huge obstacle for unnerving travelers. Now the mostly tame waters are a scenic destination for families and canyon explorers.

" Here foaming down the skelvy rocks
In twisting strength I rin;
There high my boiling torrent smokes
Wild roaring o'er a linn."

( Robert Burns, 1787 )
