Upper Cedar Creek  Sucess!

Fun outing with boisedoc. Great weather and views more than made up for bushwhacking on Upper Cedar Creek and tedious talus higher up. Trip Report

Dry Creek approach  Sucess!

Mt biked up Dry Creek and camped at the lake below the summit ridge. Another great adventure with Randy and Valerie Gamett. Lots of wildlife too.

Great day  Sucess!

Superdave and I headed over to the Lost Rivers to give this peak a try. Followed Sean's route. There is a trail in the bottom but still pretty significant bush whacking- river crossings, thorns, stinging nettles. Once out of the trees, it is a whole bunch of talus and scree- all class 2. Awesome views from the summit. Great weather. Not many summit visitors judging by the register. 11 hours total

Re: Great day

Great clImb up Dry Creek, and no bush whacking, or stinging nettle. Didn't get the 2nd peak we wanted (weather) so will have to try again when we go back for Ferguson. Thanks for giving my friend Randy beta. Patty

Stinging Nettles  Sucess!

Upper Cedar Creek wasn't great, but it wasn't really awful- I was able to find a remnant trail for about 70% of the way up the valley. Still, it took about 2 hrs to go the 3.5 miles to the open slopes. Once on the open slopes it was faster and really it was nothing more than endurance to reach the top. This scramble was much like the the USGS hike from the west, but this was a bit easier. There was a large cairn at the top, but no summit log. I left a PVC tube. It was 4.5 hrs up and 3.5 down.
