Glacier Peak - Gerdine & Cool Glaciers

Glacier Peak - Gerdine & Cool Glaciers

So close; after hopping onto the edge of Gerdine glacier, we followed the tracks of a party of two who got an earlier start than we did. Around 9500' we met the heavily crevassed intersection of the Gerdine and Cool glaciers, and decided our lack of a rope dictated it would be unwise to continue. We tried shuffling back over some rock and ice towards the traditional Disappointment Peak rock route, but some rockfall made us question that choice as well. August 2007.

Awesome stuff, cp59 !

Choice means everything ...
especially on any stratavolcano in
the Pacific Northwest.

Glad you made it back, okay! Those
are awesome crevasses. You might
want to post them on an Album.
