Granite Peak

Granite Peak

Granite Peak seen from about halfway up the southwest route. The bushwhacking is worse than it looks and was time consuming. That is why I recommended taking the route from the north instead. I thought I would add this photo to show what this side of the mountain looks like or if anyone is interested in climbing this route

Re: Yeah wow!

Thanks! I’ve already forgotten about bushwhacking. It was fun and definitely worth exploring again. I love the area and Granite Peak is an awesome mountain. I think you would enjoy it too.

Re: Yeah wow!

I wish I could have did ALL the hikes and
climbs that Kelsey did !

But, the desert isn't so bad. As long as you
avoid stepping on rattlesnakes and falling
head-first into cactus.

Re: Yeah wow!

Kelsey has written many guidebooks for hiking in the mountains and desert areas of Utah. I do a pretty good job at avoiding snakes but it’s impossible to avoid cactus.
