Hasn't voted | Thanks for your comment...but as you can see, I wrote my profile name as MauriceRavel, not Maurice Ravel, precisely in order to avoid people thinking I'm a megalomaniac!
By the way, it's Rachman-i-nov...
All the same, thanks for your comment - I'm so glad a couple of people have noticed this photo of mine finally!
Cheers and happy climbing to you too,

Voted 10/10 | Well, I did the same. I spelled my name Rachmanonav so that people would not confuse me with the great Rachmaninov. Just kidding, of course. I have seen so many different spellings of this name, I'm not sure which one I should go by.
Here's a piece of information for you, being from that part of the world, I have known people by the name "Rahman" and never "Rachman." I think the "Rachman" spelling is a western invention. Americans cannot pronounce Rahman correctly, so they settle for Rachman. As far as the rest of the name goes, I'd rather stay from that all together.
One thing for sure, I'll be keeping an eye on your future photos.
Thanks for the reply, Eric,

Hasn't voted | As to the pronounciation of "Rahman", I'm sure you're right. In the cyrillian alphabet, the third letter in "Rachmaninov" - or "Rahmaninov" is a letter that will always be pronounced as a gutteral "ch" - the russians, contrary to, for instance, the czechs, slovaks, slovenians and croatians, don't know our "h", and so the nearest thing to that is the above mentioned.
I'm very happy about your interest in my pictures, all the more because I also like yours a lot!
Many thanks again, Marc, and greetings from Salzburg (which is really quite buzzing right now, as Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz are filming scenes here for the upcoming film "Knight and Day" - just witnessed some of it this evening!),
