A long and satisfying day. Had a nap in the sun at 12,000' or so; couldn't ask for better. I even found my hat, just where I left it.

Cold, clear, windy day. Saw a herd of mountain goats seemingly oblivious to the weather.

Did this route with my wife. I looked at the map and thought that this would make an exalent route, so I tried it. It worked quite well, but we did not summit. We stopped at about 12,600 feet, 1,000 feet from the summit. Will try this one again sometime.

The hike through the forest with no trail took awhile to work through.

A nice half-day hike above timberline. I still hate those darn willows tho.

We climbed Gray Wolf from Guanella Pass under crystal-blue skies with very calm winds. It felt like cheating! We went on to climb Spalding before returning to the pass.

Climbed on Memorial Day through knee and hip deep snow. Took a route up South Chicago Creek. Easy climb up gentle slopes. The upper part of the mountain was completely clear of snow. It was indeed a day to remember. Saw no one all day.
