Thanks for the nice comments!

- I can barely imagine running 100-milers ultramarathons either, which the Grizz also did uncounted many times, but I guess some people are just made out the best materials :)

Stunning

No, take a look at this shot made by the younger guys at the same spot a couple days later to see what deserves to be called stunning IMO.

Good trip report. Looks like all of you had a great climb up Lone Peak with nice weather too. Congratulations to Grizz on his 86th climb. He is one of the strongest guys I've ever met.

nice weather too

At the very top, yes. As to the way to the cirque ... it's just no one was taking pictures when there was no visibility :))

I enjoyed the TR. Good pics as well. I never had much interest in a Lone Peak winter attempt until now. Beautiful terrain up high. Also those pics with the mountains above the clouds are especially breathtaking.

Jan. 6th

The WMC trip is on the 20th of January if I get it right? Check the Rambler. It is a pretty desolate place most winter long, it just might be better to have some company just in case. If you do Wolverine or Pfeifferhorn on a weekend, at least there will likely be people withing sight....

Re: Jan. 6th

I'm planning on going with a couple of hiking friends, so no worries there. I rarely hike alone.

A good experience

We didn't make the summit. The weather wasn't great. We lost the trail about 2 miles in and started bushwhacking. Made for some slow going. It was tons of fun, and I learned some great lessons. We probably only made it 3 miles in before it got dark and we set up camp in a spot sheltered from the wind. I'd like to try again sometime though.
