You used to be able to get very close to Rainbow Bridge by boat, but since Lake Powell has dropped, you have to hike a ways... This is me at our first glimpse of Rainbow Bridge. Rainbow Bridge National Monument, UT

Yes, THANKS for answering my question! I had heard that Powell had dropped significantly over the last several years. Bummer! Oh well, at least it's shorter than the approach from the Navajo Mountain side. Last time the wife & I visited Powell - we rented a boat & ended up "dragging bottom" in a cove on the opposite side. Guess Mother Nature dictates how much water ends up in the Lake. Cheers!
