July 22, 2012 Huarapasca climb with Skyline Adventures as a warm up for Alpamayo
When I was researching the trip before going out to Peru I found hardly any info on Huarapasca.  Since there are tons of peaks in the 5400m / 17,000 feet range there, this does not come as a surprise.  Huarapasca is on the southern end of the Cordillera Blanca range, so its a bit of a ways from Huaraz.  However, at least the moderate climb on the south side of it is very easily accessed as the road goes right next to it.  From there its a short (maybe an hour) hike up the hill to the bottom of the glacier on the left of the rock wall that hinders the view of the mountain from that perspective.

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
