In front of Aries Butte - Zion National Park

Peak in front of Aries Butte - Zion National Park We headed for Zion today, the day after a two days rain and snow drench and looked for something that was somewhat dry to do. We parked in front of Jug Handle Arch and looked at the mountain directly in front of us. It looked dry, so we headed to the top. The rock was crumbly from being so wet, but other than that it was a great day hiking. Behind the mountain was Aries Butte. We could also look down into Keyhole Canyon and of course could see Jug Handle Arch. Nothing else was named but what views! Gorgeous!

Thanks, Tanya !

Lookin' good! So what would you define this as - in mountaineering terms. A scramble? No, I
wasn't talking about what you do with eggs.
Rock can be rock; it will one day turn to sand. Glad to see you guys ENJOYING it. Cheers!

A hike :) ... with a few sketchy places. ;) On day! It was crumbling to sand in our hands because it was so wet! Scary day to hike sketchy places. lol

Where is this

Jug Handle Arch that you keep referring to?
Is it somewhere along the North Fork Road?
Within the Park's boundaries? Okay, I'll check out the topozone. Sounds fun. I bet they heard you laughing, all the way from the Parowan Valley. Thanks!

Re: Where is this

It's a cool arch and if you know where to look you can actually see if from the highway in Zion. Here is the trail report. :)
