Neva is jewel of Indian Peaks, i love this mountain.

I agree Neva is a wonderful jewel, and the Indian Peaks are a special place to begin with! Minus the rock-fall danger, this route was delightful, and the weather we enjoyed was nothing short of perfect!
Unfortunately, having great weather, sunny and warm, is responsible for most of the rock-falls. Not to worry about your sliced arm. You'll have war wounds to show your grand kids. Kidding aside, glad to see you guys are okay.
Yeah, it has certainly occurred to me that the joys of hiking & climbing at almost 13k feet in a t-shirt were tempered by the miseries of rock fall and rotten snow. :(
My arm is still attached and doesn't really hurt, so - all's well that ends well, I guess. :)
At least I didn't have as exciting of a ride as Steven, the guy who had the rotten snow completely give way underneath him. He took a rough ride down bare, wet rock THEN into the snow slope that claimed a chunk of my arm. ;) Then again, it was in avoiding his "bare spot" that forced me to seek the higher, steeper terrain with the thinner snow...and, well, the rest you can see in the "sliced arm" photo... Hahaha!

This route, indeed, WAS a blast. This is, however, also where I tried to slice part of my arm off. ;)
