Good info

I'm planning NR->SR in a day as soon as the NR opens mid May so this is all good info. Sounds like you had a lot of fun.

mules on N Kaibab

Note that there are mules on the N Kaibab trail also and no water locations, so Bright Angel is probably the best option on hot days unless you like carrying lots of water up the trail.

Northern AZ rocks

Glad you guys enjoyed your adventure. As a Flagstaff local, I never take what we have here for granted. Being able to do the things you did on a regular basis is such a luxury! Best wishes.

I'm definitely jealous...

You have to have a "tight-knit" group and be in good shape to do
something like this! Humphreys has a fresh mantle of snow now!!!

Well done!

What a fun and challenging adventure. Also, thanks for sharing the excellent information. Now, I'm curious what your next family adventure will be.

I stumbled upon...

this trip report and am impressed. Our family is heading to Arizona in 2 weeks. My wife and I have hiked in Arizona a lot and especially enjoy the Northern part. Congrats on a great trip.
