Karst arch

Karst arch

Hidden in the heart of the largest virgin beech forest of Europe - the Uholka-Shirokyi Luh massif, being a UNESCO's World Natural Heritage.

Formed of limestone, Карстовий міст (UA) is 3 m tall and 10 m wide. Nowadays accessible via the Mala Uholka hiking trail, starting in Kicherely village - page 11-15. This huge stone bridge is a real natural wonder created through karst-forming processes. In 1552 ambassadors of Ivan the Terrible - the Russian Czar - went out of their way to visit this Uholka's special landmark.

Re: that's

Of course - this is one of the wildest places of the old continent. It is situated 40 km from Tyachiv and it is the heart of the largest virgin beech forest of Europe - the Uholka-Shyrokyi Luh massif with incredible area of total wilderness (10 000ha). Located near the geographical centre of Europe.
