From Kennedy Mountain’s summit, the view towards the Sierra Crest includes many notable peaks, including Goddard, Darwin, the Palisades, Split Mountain, Brewer, and Silliman. The view here spans from the northwest on the left side to the south at the right. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | lcarreau | Dat's so cool ... | |
Voted 10/10 | I remember seeing a similar view of 'Brewer'
from the Buck Mountain lookout tower, while
I did a seasonal gig for Sequoia NP.
What about the peaks south of Brewer?
Are those part of the Great Western Divide? | | Posted Jun 22, 2010 10:43 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks. And you betcha on the Western Divide. But they aren't big or prominent enough for me to identify which is which, so no labels there yet. I think Table, Milestone, Triple Divide, and Silliman all visible. | | Posted Jun 23, 2010 1:14 am |

Hasn't voted | Yes, the Great Western Divide peaks north of Colby pass are easily visible. Further to the right are the Kaweahs--The Black Kaweah is comparatively visible on the ridge. Mt. Kaweah--although 13,802 (highest peak west of the crest) is blurred by Red Kaweah and other peaks on the Kaweah Peaks Ridge. | | Posted Jun 14, 2011 2:33 pm |

Hasn't voted | Left of Silliman, up a broad slope, is Peak 11,485--the highest point on the Silliman Tablelands. The view from here is spectacular. One can see from Ritter south through the Kings River Drainage (Palisades) to the Kaweahs. The Black Kaweah is awesome from here. Not many people travel up the Marble Fork of the Kaweah beyond the Pear Lake area, so they miss this viewpoint that I consider one of the finest in the Sierra.
