Little Black to Lookout Peak

A brushy traverse as solstice celebration.

Started in the upper Avenues and followed the trail to the top of Little Black Mountain. Continued on to Smuggler's Gap, passing flamingos and a cymbal-wielding monkey set out for the Wasatch Steeplechase.

After Smuggler's Gap, the trail goes away. Lots of bushwhacking and game trails from here to Lookout Peak. I recommend wearing pants; I wore shorts and paid for it. There's a bit of scrambling, a bit of routefinding, plenty of wildlife, and a fair dose of solitude.

It's a fun traverse, not as committing as Wildcat (the scramble to Little Black is the steepest part), but still requires stamina (~5000' gained in ~13 miles). Expect to spend the better part of a day on the ridge.
