to Dixon Peak, the one just beyond the Santaquin ridge which has the antenna set up and building on it and a road. See this TOPO. Check out the heavy haze that is covering Utah valley. Could you call it smog? It was pretty bad but the reason I enjoyed this shot is that the peak down the ridgeline that has the antenna and building on it is one that i have looked at many times from down below. Some hikers I met had just come up this ridgeline which looks like something i'd like to do also. Click the pic to get the full resolution shot of Dixon Peak.

Voted 10/10 | the MIDDLE EARTH photos? Excuse me, Dean.
I love your photos - the SMOG isn't your fault. We ALL have our faults, just look at the San Andreas in California. That's a BIG fault.
Did you see Dennis's BIG BANANA SLUG photo. Really errie & creepy - just in time for Halloween. Take care of yourself, Dean !!!(The slug is catching up to the BEAR.) | | Posted Oct 30, 2007 9:31 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Nice photo, Dean. Dixon Peak looks like a good mountain to climb in that area.
Definition of smog: smoke or other atmospheric pollutants combined with fog in an unhealthy or irritating mixture except in Utah where it's called haze. | | Posted Oct 31, 2007 12:55 am |

Hasn't voted | Haze=Smog. Makes sense since on this day it was sure hazy down below. The air was clear where I was but I hated to have to descend into that stuff. Thanks for your comments. | | Posted Oct 31, 2007 12:57 pm |
