Lowe Peak's Northwest Ridge
Second highest peak in Tooele County's Oquirrh
Range (10,583ft). It looms over the Tooele Valley like a
brown pyramid. A white pyramid in winter! Its
northern flanks are covered with mountain mahoganies and Douglas firs. In the foreground
grows the Dwarf Rabbitbush, or Chrysothamnus
depressus, a member of the Sunflower family. Photo taken in August of 1997.
"We saw signs of elk everywhere!"
