Madonna and The Nuns

Madonna and The Nuns

Madonna and The Nuns (twin sandstone spires), as seen from the beginning of the Little Horse Trail in Sedona, Arizona. The snow-covered area in the background is the western slopes of 6,834' Munds Mountain. In the foreground is a juniper to the left, and a large Chokecherry bush to the right. These two plants signify the Pinyon pine- juniper woodlands of central Arizona. February 11, 2009

AZ Best Season

Is winter actually the best season to hike around in AZ, or will the spring be better? Sorry, I don't mention this (or that) is another red masterpiece by RPK; hope it goes without saying Larry.
Cheers,
Jacek

Re: AZ Best Season

That strictly depends on what your individual interest might be. Do you like to
have colorful butterflies fluttering around
your head? Do you long to see fragile flowers sprouting and blooming in unison??

Then, springtime would probably be the BEST.

(Of course, summertime would be the worst.
At that time, the snakes come out, and the
whole area becomes "a cesspool of heat.")
