Meadows between North Navarre and Horsethief

Looking south on the Summer Blossom Trail about halfway between North Navarre Peak (in photo) and Horsethief Peak (behind the photographer). This is at about 7300 feet and 3.5 miles into the hike. More of a beta photo so you can see what the meadow area looks like. Thar be bears in these parts so beware. We ran into a mother with two second summer cubs a couple minutes after taking this photo. 9/17/13.

Lyall Larch trees

There is a grove of big old Lyall Larches on the meadow directly below the peak in this photo. It made me think of the ancient forests of Middle Earth, where Hobbits lived. Verl Rogers
