| From Boundary, I really enjoyed this leg of the trip. Tried to make it as Class 3 as possible without disrupting too many big blocks. Very cool day tagging 2 peaks in 2 states within an hour. :) And yes, we saw a herd of 10 wild horses on the way back to the truck. | ||

| Climbed after Boundary. I enjoyed the ridge and final scramble to Montgomery much more than the loose scree slog to Boundary Peak. Did the Queen Mine Route. WE had perfect weather | ||

| Alex Wood | Lost Trekking Poles ![]() Date Climbed: Dec 20, 2011 | |
| Sub-zero temperatures all day long with howling winds. There was hardly any snow at all. We brought crampons and ice axes but didn't even need them. We had no issues driving to the TH for the Queen Mine Route. I left my trekking poles on the scree/talus slope just below the summit. I had put them down on accident and then I walked away (thats what AMS will do to you). If you find them, PLEASE PM ME! I will pay for shipping! Awesome summit! | ||

| A very nice hike in the White Mountains. The traverse from Boundary was much easier than expected. Made it back to the car well before the thunderstorms started. | ||

| Made the traverse over from Boundary Peak. I got over to the west near the summit (dumb idea) and ended up climbing steep and loose rock. I accidentally pulled a chair size rock loose, and narrowly avoided getting crushed, escaping with just some scrapes on both legs. | ||

| The scramble to Montgomery from Boundary is sketchy!!! But the view is better. Took me about 45 minutes each way from Boundary. | ||

| After bagging Boundary Todd & I undertook the interesting and sometimes tricky scramble to Montgomery. 1+05 over, same back. Surprised to find another ammo box holding a neat summit log book. Not a lot of entries in it for some reason... Very little wind to hinder us on this overcast day. Worth the trip from Boundary Peak provided one has the time. #2 June 20, 2012. Saw summit entry from another salt laker from two days earlier! | ||

| The most challenging part is on the NV side. Descended on the south side of the ridge. Lots of loose scree, had to climb at a upward angle just to stay even. I had the summit to myself. Good workout climbing up the scree back to the Boundary and over to the north side and back out. Looks a little intimidating from Boundary, but I'm glad I decided to do it. | ||

| We took the south side of the ridge which was a fun challenging traverse. Save some in the tank as you have to go back across and up to Boundary again. Beautiful view even if it was diminshed by the fires down south. | ||

| Fun traverse over from Boundary. You can make it as easy or difficult as you want depending how much you stay on the ridge. | ||

| SageHawk | Great mountain, lousy traverse. ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 3, 2009 | |
| The traverse over to Montgomery from Boundary is probably worth it, but you might not think so as you negotiate the loose scree and rotten rock along the way. The view from the summit is sublime, as you will see the Sweetwaters in CA to the NW, the Toiyabes and Toquimas in NV to the NE, the Sierra crest to the West as well as an end view of the White Mountain range to the south of you. I find it hard to believe that so many climb Boundary and then turn around and walk back down, leaving this higher peak unclimbed. | ||

| Worth the trip over. Rock wasn't as loose as I expected and definately enjoyed the add-on. Stay close to the ridge on the CA side of the line and you're probably better off. | ||

| With Tom Becht, climbed up to Boundary first (meeting bighornmonkey aka Kevin enroute), then on to Montgomery through tons of heavy cement. Ugh! Trip Report | ||
