Drove up to Kite Lake and did the Decalibron route for Democrat, Cameron, Lincoln and Bross. The round trip time was about 6.5 hours. Got chased down Bross when the weather moved in, but all in all, it was a very good trip.

Last peak on the Decalibron - took about 40 min. from Lincoln. Hiked south to "South Bross" for some pictures then headed down the unpleasant west face trail.

Reached the summit about 10:10AM, very clear, blue skies, but very windy. Signed the summit log, stayed about 15 mins. Down a steep, scree-filled trail back to Kite Lake by 11:20AM. My 8th 14'er, and another beautiful morning!

4th fourteener; third of a full day. Talk about a broad summit! Reminded me of the surface of the moon or Mars (not that I've ever been there...)

The final leg of the Decalibron. There were jeeps and ATVs at the top and we were tempted to ask for a ride down. Going down the scree of Bross back to Kite Lake was both fun and a royal pain. Somehow we got sucked into a drainage and did a nice rock climb down the sides of a waterfall.

Lincoln's a nice mountain. I hate Bross--although to be fair it might have more than a little to do with Aaron and I coming down the wrong way, and having to do about 20 or 30 miles of bouldering.

It was funny, though--and memorable--that while crossing a snowfield on the way down, I fell through up to my waist, and was thrashing about more or less helplessly, when I heard a "click" behind me, followed by, "Wow, what a shot..."

I'll probably never get over it.

This was a fairly unspectacular mountain, but... it did provide a nice snow-filled gully that allowed rapid descent via glissade. Warning!! Snow up top was a little icy and it didnt take much sliding to realize I was out of control.. Great opportunity to practice self-arresting! Cheers!

After climbing Long's a few weeks ago...it seemed sick and wrong to sleep in late and bag 4 peaks with such minimal effort. Nice scenery and easy hiking don't make for solitude. Still a fun hike though.

Climbed with Mom, Dad, and little brother. Found a magnetite rock - magnets stick to it.

Descent to Kite Lake was hard on Spencer the Mountain Dog- he didn't care for the scree at all. Luckily there was stilll a fair amount of vertical feet of snow left in the gully.

Bross seems a little less exciting after Lincoln. Still, it's a good hike, probably the easiest of the three. There was even a cyclist doing this one! There was some confusion on where the actual summit was (I didn't see a marker anywhere), so I wandered around to the various rock shelters and cairns so I made sure I touched the actual summit (a method that is called "Lobdellizing"). Then it was on to Democrat.

Climbed it along with Lincoln and Democrat. I was with my 2 brothers. Trails were quite crowded. Nice big summit on Bross.

Ran Bross from Mineral Park to train for the Pikes Peak Ascent. A great running route from Mineral Park to almost 13,500. Above there, it's a little too rough to run. What a strange, big summit!

What an uninspiring summit! Very windy with threatening weather. The actual summit is somewhat hard to place and we choose the rock shelter as the most likely spot. Descent via the snow-filled east gully was definitely the most interesting part.

I climbed Bross after Democrat and Lincoln from Kite Lake. It took me five hours car to car. The weather was cool and windy and a snow squall blew through on my way from Cameron to Bross.

I think our biggest problem was determining what pile of rocks was the true summit. The scree-sliding on the way down to Kite Lake was a blast, though. Any quick descent is fine by me!

The fog was so thick that visibility was about 10-20 feet. simply amazing weather. The scree skiing off the summit is SUPER FUN! Not to be missed for its descent, not many mountains have that said about them.
