| Started from East Portal and hiked up to the Divide, following it over the summits of Heartbeat and Sprint, then dropping west into the valley and up Epworth and then back into the valley, back up to the Divide and the summit of Beacon, and then back down the east side of the Divide and back to the car. | |

| I got of work at 5:30 pm, so Kimberly, Kessler, Shaylee and I decided to hurry and do an evening/night climb. I suggested Mount Epworth, but it was a much longer drive than I thought it would be. We set off from the trailhead at 6:50 PM and climbed as fast as we could. We descended to Pumphouse Lake and then climbed the long talus and boulder field to the summit, reaching it just before sunset. After having a snack and enjoying the fantastic sunset we headed down the mountain. We reached the trailhead after dark and didn’t get back to the condo until very late. It was a good climb, but a very rushed trip and I wished we had more time to linger. | |
