| Went solo. Saw only two other people. I had summited and was on the way down when I ran into them. They had turned back because they lost the trail. I wish we were closer and all three of us could have made it. | |

| Started up through the trees then picked up Chinclip (closed) and took it to the warming hut. Stashed my snowboard there and pushed for the top. Had fun working up some gully systems. On the ridge, got full whiteout conditions with really strong winds. Turned around somewhere between the Lower Lip and the Chin. Great ride down the Cliff trail and Nosedive though. | |

| Where in the blazes did the (white) blazes go? Hint: if you lose the trail, find a ski run and mush to the top of the gondola house, then follow the boot pack up the so-called gondola trail. I think it brings you out near the top of the profanity trail. I lucked out and had a bluebird day with temperatures near or below zero, however. Winds were gusting but mostly under 10 mph. Next time I'd like to see the Taft Lodge and Lake of the Clouds. | |

| I summitted as part of the Long Trail during my through-hike. The roads near the top were uninteresting to say the least, but in the obscurity of fogs they were soon forgotten. | |

| Three times now - once via Long Trail from the picnic area and twice via Hell's Brook. It just doesn't look like there's any way up when crossing the Adam's Apple, but it's really nice from there to the top. | |

| up Hell Brook, backtrack to Adams Apple, summit, along ridge to Nose, back up ridge to Profanity and down Long Trail. Hell Brook was very steep and wet - tough trail. Profanity should be considered rough and wet but by comparison it was a cakewalk. Next time I'll try Sunset Ridge - looks like a beautiful trail. | |

| Took the easy route along the ridge from the toll road parking lot. It was a beautiful summer day and the trail was quite crowded. Some mistook the artillery ? explosions in the distance for thunder. Nice views and pleasant summit volunteers from the GMC. | |

| It was so clear you could see the buildings in downtown Berlington! Mts. Washington and Marcy were covered in snow and it looked like you could hit them with a driver! I think you could even see the buildings in Montreal! The Autumn leaves were at there peak and there were hundreds of people on top. Even a TV crew was there! HP #20 for me. Got all 50 in 2002. Got the NE 111 in 2001. | ||

| Oh what an experience this one was.Despite being very windy,cold and raining I really enjoyed Mt.Mansfield.This as my first visit to the Green mountains in Vermont and I do say it is extraordinary.For over 2 miles there is a rocky ridge above treeline thats just a true pleasure to hike.Its definately in my top 20...Jim w | |
