Mountain Sorrel

Mountain Sorrel (Oxyria digyna) grows in rocky open sites and talus slopes at high elevations. It's leaves are edible but sour tasting. Photographed at 7700 feet on the east peak of Mount Daniel August 28, 2010.

Thanks Beau! You know I had little to no interest in photographing or identifying flowers before you posted that album of yours. I've spent many years totally ignoring the flowers I've encountered.

There is so much beauty in the mountains it takes a lifetime to really soak it all in. Maybe this is just a new chapter in the details to your adventures. Makes you wonder what is next!!! It would become boring if it was always the same... :)
