| Went with my son, this was our first time on Timpanogos. The Timpooneke trail was awesome! One of the most beautiful trails I have ever been on. | ||

| My buddy and I took two girls who were ill prepared for this climb. They cried a good portion of the ascent and the last 4-5 miles of the descent. In the end, (several months later) they thanked us for one of the greatest experiences of their lives. | ||

| So it took me 2 and half hours to reach Emerald lake via the ASPEN GROVE Trail, the snow deffinatly has moved back in and making it to the summet was to much of a risk without any ice gear for me. Still had a great hike and enjoyed the shelter for a lunch spot. Only saw about 30 people on the trail and most turned around just past the rock slide. I only saw one group with the equipment to make it up. Great hike still just watch your step with the ice. | ||

| Started at 2 pm. 4hrs 45 min to summit. Saw at least 50-100 people coming down as I was going up. Gorgeous day. Perfect September weather for hiking. | ||

| Couldn't have picked a better day. Saw only 11 people the whole time, blue skies, mountain goats, and no crowds. Took Timpooneke up and back, gentle incline, pleasant hike. | ||

| RickF | My First Summit in Utah ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 2, 2011 | |
| I accepted an invitation from a friend who was working in Lehi so I said sure. Aside from downhill skiing at the resorts I hadn't really given the mountains much thought. Boy was overlooking some beatiful and challenging peaks. I got to join a group of nine to the summit. It was beautiful. due to the late and heavy winter it was still like Spring in September. The flowers were blooming, all the plant life was lush and green and the waterfalls were spectacular. We also hiked through a herd of goats too. | ||

| Hiked up Mt Timpanogos with Kum. Took us about 5 and half hours to go up and 4 hours down. Impressed by many other people on the trail, including a snowboarder who wants to snowboard the glacier, a 6-year-old girl and many runners. The hike was very nice, but I was pretty sored after it. | ||

| boisedoc | cool peak ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 14, 2011 | |
| climbed this with my wife as a warm up for the grand teton. Went up the Timpooneke trail. Overnight rain kept the place pretty empty and we had the mountain to ourselves in the morning. Very scenic area marred somewhat by the building on the summit as well as too many visitors (one of whom apparantly thought it was a good idea to take a dump right in the middle of the trail). Still a fair amount of snow | ||

| jkcook | sunrise summit | |
| Went up Aspen Grove and down Timpanooke with a group of friends. We left around 1:00 or 2:00 am, as I recall, submitted just as the sun came up, had a nice sunrise breakfast at the summit, and came back down around 1:00 or 2:00 pm. | ||

| awilk7 | Timpooneke Up, Aspen Grove Down ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 2, 2008 | |
| Went up Timpooneke and then down Aspen Grove. It was crowded, but not terribly so. We saw moose and mountain goat (which were knocking rocks off the ridge they were traversing near the saddle down onto the trail below, watch out!). Summit view was as good as advertised. I would highly recommend this route if the elevation gain and distance seems daunting. The Timpooneke trail is slightly longer but starts from a higher elevation trailhead, so the ascent is just a touch easier. Then by descending via Aspen Grove, you get to see all of the fantastic views that route has to offer while on the (easier) way down. | ||

| Hiked up via Aspen Grove in 1999 and glissaded down the snowfield to Emerald Lake. Hiked up via Timpooneke in 2001 and 2008. In '08 we saw three mountain goats near the trail, not far from the summit. Beautiful scenery all the way up (both routes), and amazing views as soon as you hit the saddle. | ||

| We climbed and summitted. We had a really good time. As for current conditions, ice axes and crampons would be highly recommended. Clothes to put on to glissade down are mandatory. From the first meadow to the saddle - Timpanooke and Aspen Groove are COMPLETELY under snow - COMPLETELY. From the Saddle to the Hut - all clear. A front side approach would be easier than the back side right now. If you want the normal leisurely walk up the back side, wait until mid to late August. | ||
