The Muenchener Hut is located on the top of Zugspitze the highest mountain of Germany. It is origin for the famous Jubilaeumsgrat or destination for the ascents by feet via Hoellental and Reintal. You can reach Muenchener hut by cable-car from Ehrwald (Austria) or Eibsee (Germany). Also you can get to the top of Zugspitze by using the Zugspitz-train, the old rack railway built in 1928-1930. The train ends at Zugspitzplatt, the highest ski-area of Zugspitze. On this way you have to continue with the "Gletscherbahn" the cablecar to the summit and Muenchener Haus. The Muenchner Haus is also day-destination for tourist who visit the ugly tourist platform on the top.
Eibsee is the main cable-car which leads to the summit of Zugspitze and Muenchener Haus. From Garmisch-Partenkirchen on B23 towards "Fernpass". behind the village Grainau at a junction left towards Eibsee. Follow the signs. There are big parking-areas. At Eibsee you can choose, either the cable-car to the summit or the train to Zugspitzplatt and continuing with another cable-car to the summit.
The access to Muenchener Haus is either one of the cable-cars or one of the two long ways through Reintal or Hoellental.
