Looking back at the incredible goat trail route that connects Ptarmigan Tunnel to Redgap Pass. Look directly above the leftmost hiker to a deep notch in the rocky ridge; that notch marks the start of the goat trail, which angles down and to the left. By enlarging the photo, you can make out breaks in the rock where the goat trail travels. Photo taken a few hundred feet south of Redgap Pass. The snowy peak in the background is Mount Merritt, with Old Sun Glacier draped across its east face. By following the ridge to the left, one can make out the Lithoid Cusp (high point above the deep notch in the ridge) and Ipasha Peak (broad summit with multiple snowfields). August 22, 2013
