| Talonite | From Sandstone Quarry Date Climbed: Aug 12, 2012 | |
| Originally intended to hike gray cap, but it was too hot for that hike, so we audibled to new peak from the west side. Made it to the saddle at the west side which left like ~2000 feet to navigate to the actual summit. Unfortunately, the 108 degree weather rapidly changed to a storm while on the saddle. We quickly scrambled down the mountain as it began to rain and thunder, taking shelter in a cave as soon as possible. Was interesting with the elements, but will try in better conditions some other time... | ||

| The approach from the East at the saddle is a steady climb up loose rock. At the top you get to walk a pretty good edge though. Do Kraft and New Peak the same day. Also, the saddle has a peaceful spot with two small trees to lounge under. | ||

| Red Rocks was cold so few people were out hiking or climbing. Snow on the east ridge route from the saddle to the summit. | ||

| This peak is limestone and the scrambling involves sharper rocks than the neighboring peaks which are sandstone. However, still a fun peak if you're looking for a quick one. | ||

| This mountain is about 15 minutes from my house. I usually combine it with 4 other small peaks in the area, and some down canyon routes. | ||
