...Not just a nice way...to us it was the BEST way to spend Thanksgiving 2010. Nothing like face shots all the way down. I did break the 1st rule of Backcountry skiing (1 at a time on the slope) but that early in the year there were no layers of snow to worry about. It may have been risky but it was well worth it! Happy Trails
My skiing dreams have already started. Doc says that Troy can ski again by early Nov. for me Dec. Can't wait to do what I do best again. Oh how I miss climbing up mountains then skiing back down em. Happy Trails ZeeJay
There was some turkey eaten that night and the next day when we came back to Silver Fork. Too bad the next day some setteling happend and it was not face shots all the way down. Still both days were AMAZING for that early in the year.
"Mountaineering is more than climbing (exercise), panoramic views, and wilderness experience. It is also challenge, risk, and hardship (self reliance). And it is not for everyone. Those drawn to the mountains can find them exhilarating and irresistible, as well as frustrating and sometimes even deadly. There are qualities to mountaineering that bring inspiration and joy in a pursuit that is more than a pastime, more than a sport – a passion, certainly, and sometimes a compulsion."
