...Not just a nice way...to us it was the BEST way to spend Thanksgiving 2010. Nothing like face shots all the way down. I did break the 1st rule of Backcountry skiing (1 at a time on the slope) but that early in the year there were no layers of snow to worry about. It may have been risky but it was well worth it! My skiing dreams have already started. Doc says that Troy can ski again by early Nov. for me Dec. Can't wait to do what I do best again. Oh how I miss climbing up mountains then skiing back down em. Happy Trails ZeeJay
There was some turkey eaten that night and the next day when we came back to Silver Fork. Too bad the next day some setteling happend and it was not face shots all the way down. Still both days were AMAZING for that early in the year.
"You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know."
