North Face of Hoback Peak

North Face of Hoback Peak

Instead of retracing our route along the northeast ridge, we made a fast descent from Hoback Peak by using the snowfields in this moraine-like basin. Except for some steep spots near the very top, the slopes were mostly moderate and easy. We also found the snow to be soft, but that was about four hours after sunrise. Wyoming Range, WY-- July 2009
