Hasn't voted | hahaha... so, the north face of Mount Rainier looks like Broad Peak. The only problem is that it's about 17,000 feet shorter. But, Mount Rainier would be very happy to hear that it has been compared to Broad Peak.
Many thanks Karrar for such a great comment, and the visit,
All the best,

Hasn't voted | Hi Charles, Most people who aspire to do the north face of Rainier climb the north ridge which is called Liberty Ridge. Liberty Ridge is a great climb, but it should be done in early season. I have a story of our climb coming out soon, and we did it late in the season with many mishaps.
Thanks for the visit,

Voted 10/10 | with Charles, very nice shot. Liberty Ridge is an enjoyable route and this shot puts it in great perspective. Looking forward to your story! | | Posted Jan 28, 2009 2:03 pm |

Hasn't voted | Brought back memories of our climb of the ridge back in June of 91. Three unprepared climbers that made it up without any protection. Little did we know at that time what we had gotten ourselves into. Thank God that we had good weather.

Hasn't voted | I am working on a trip report right now. It has been quite a few years since we did the ridge, but the memories are clear as day to me. I feel that we got lucky we did not perish on the mountain.
Thanks for dropping by Jim,

Hasn't voted | This image has been reversed. Could someone turn it around?
(On second inspection this view is even more impressive so could you just turn the mountain around instead?) | | Posted Jun 24, 2009 9:07 pm |

Hasn't voted | You are absolutely right. It was scanned from an old slide by a store, and I'm not sure I can do anything about it.
Thanks for noticing,
I'll have to be more careful in the future. | | Posted Jun 25, 2009 12:19 am |
