Route Description

This trail may well be the best on the ridge. It is only a class one trail, but this is because it is well maintained. This trail climbs the much steeper northern side of the ridge. The trail is about a half mile in length and you'll gain over 500 feet of elevation. The view north from the trail is wonderful with a panoramic of the Susquehanna River unfolding in front of or behind you. Be careful on this trail though because it is composed of some pretty gravelly rock which is pretty slick on such a steep slope.

Essential Gear

Comfortable shoes, a trekking pole and some snacks.

Miscellaneous Info

If you have information about this route that doesn't pertain to any of the other sections, please add it here.

"There have been joys too great to be described in words, and there have been griefs upon which I have dared not to dwell, and with these in mind I must say, climb if you will, but remember that courage and strength are naught without prudence, and that a momentary negligence may destroy the happiness of a lifetime. Do nothing in haste, look well to each step, and from the beginning think what may be the end.
