When I was taking this shot, I was thinking this exact thought.

Funny ...

I was going to say there was no "red" in your
photo, but the horse on the RIGHT is of a
"burnt" chestnut; very close to being red.

Has it snowed (yet) in the eastern Sierra ???

Re: Funny ...

Hi Larry, Sorry I had run out of Costco special red color. So I just picked up some burnt red instead.

Are you kidding about the snow? It's still very hot below 12000 feet. I took this shot in winter of 2008.
Thanks for the visit, Larry,

Re: So Lovely

Actually, these two were members of a family of five, and they all looked happy. I had some photos of the whole family, but I thought these two looked very relaxed.

Thanks for the visit and the comment.

I love it

Horses with mountains in the background present themselves like a fairy tale story...I experienced similar views in Romanian Carpathians recently, not to forget. Superb shot Marc.

Re: I love it

I was there just to take photo of the mountains, then I saw the horses. I was afraid that my presence may scare them and they would leave. But things worked out great, and they stayed and continued grazing.
Thank you for the visit and the comment, Tomek,

Truly special

I said "wow" when I saw this one. Nice composition. My son in law took a great shot (imho) of horses when we were at Capitol Reef not long ago (pic) so suddenly I am noticing the cool pics that have horses in them.

Re: Truly special

I checked out your photo of the horses and red rock formations. The photo is truly beautiful with the green grass, and the rocks. Ever since I took this photo, I have been stopping and taking more photos of horses and cows in pastures. Thank you for the compliment, Dean.

Re: Congratulations ...

I feel lucky that these horses were right where I wanted them. Those snow covered mountain you see in the photo are all dry now. I can't wait for some snow on our mountains.
Thanks you for the visit and the comment, Miki,

Re: Congratulations ...

Sorry, Marc, I was knocked off of SP for over
12 hours.

Actually, I prefer "Lowe's" over "Costco,"
regarding painting products. In my
neighborhood, Lowe's is right next to REI,
allowing me to bring home pitons as well as
paint brushes.
