Oltet Gorges

Cheile Olteţului separate the Căpăţânii Mts.from the Parâng massif.This mixed nature reserve with an area of 150 ha was established in 1982 and declared the Site of Community Importance in 2000. It includes almost 400 meters tall cliffy walls and ravines carved by the Oltet river in limestone band on a length of approximately 2 km. Oltet Canyon boasts karst formations, calcareous abysses, immense blocks of limestone, vertical cliffs, overhangs, cavities and cracks. Southern Carpathians Căpăţânii Mountains ROMANIA August 2016
