I had these boots for 3 years now, and I used them for multi day hiking in difficult terrain with an heavy backpack in any kind of condition.
They performed great, the ankle support is excellent, they did not require a lot to break them in, and they feel very comfortable.
They are never wet even when crossing streams or in the rain.
I've had mine for just under 2 years. I've never gotten wet feet. When used with a good pair of gaitors (like (OR Crocodile) they are unbeatable. One minor draw-back the tops above the toe kick scrapes up pretty good in the scree. I've found that too be only a mild annoyance from an aesthetic stand point. otherwise A++ and comfy on long trail days.
This is a great boot for long hauls with a heavy pack. The have excellent support and traction. They are also built for a more narrow foot which is a plus for me. The toe kick does tend to wear a bit and I would like to see a more protective rand. All in all a great, long lasting boot.
I bought these yesterday and have already worn them for a rain soaked hike. I spent two hours trying to find the perfect boot and the second I slipped my feet into these I knew I was in love. Then I went on an over night trip that turned into a rainy, muddy slog. The boots stayed comfortable and felt like I'd worn them for years. Afterward my feet were bone dry and comfortable. I look forward to many years with these boots!
i used these for a couple of years and they are not only very comfortable but also extremely water resistant. the only time my feet have gotten wet in them is when i swam across a river.
