Product Description

From Black Diamond:
For placing gear at your fingertips or route-finding from a distance, the Spot is our lightest weight headlamp offering a beam. Housed in a reflector, the one-watt LED throws a far-reaching beam. When all you need is close-range light, switch modes and use the three SuperBright LEDs which emit usable light for over 100 hours. A single switch on top lets you choose from four lighting levels for both modes—min, mid, max and strobe—to tailor the light output to your needs.

Why a lights - headlamps group AND a headlamp group?

THE SPOT
This is a great headlamp combining a fairly powerful 1W led 3 regular leds below it. I was surprised how far it throws light. I recommend this over a tikka or something of that nature simply because it does have the 1W spot light, aptly named, available. Low setting is good for reading or saving batteries (3 AAAs). Simple, easy and bright.

Bright
This is a solid light for the money. It is super bright yet light weight. The battery life is good and the lower settings allow you to save juice for when you really need it. The light stays in place well so I have enjoyed using it on trail runs at night.
