Atlas 8-series snowshoes are ideal for adventure trail hiking. The 830 model is designed to carry 170 - 250 lbs. Strong, aircraft-grade aluminum frames and abrasion-resistant Nytex™ decks are impervious to the cold, and soft, comfortable EZ8™ bindings' clamshell design eliminates pressure points. Molded-in arch support offers comfort on longer hikes

Fast-Loc™ buckles are easy to put on and take off.

Durable, stainless-steel 8-Trac™ toe crampons provide a secure grip on icy slopes; patented heel cleat for downhill braking traction. Double-reinforced heel-strike area and rugged urethane binding suspension offer long-wearing durability

Recommended load specification includes weight of hiker and their gear. (Information gathered at www.rei.com)

I have been very pleased with the snowshoeing experience with these snowshoes. They are comfortable, easy to handle in the cold, the bindings do not stick, and they are great with load distribution. I would recommend these for day-hikes or winter backpacking/peakbagging trips where more weight would be carried.

1st Snowshoe
These shoes were first tried on Quandry Peak. They enabled me to stay on top of the snow very well. For a first time user I found them easy to put on and take off. The Crampons bit well into the snow also. The temps were as low as 35 below and they worked just fine.

Good shoes
I have had these for a number of years. They go on and off quickly. Their material and workmanship has held up well.
