Product Description

Here is the perfectly matched companion to your Himalayan Ice Axe! The head of the Himalayan Hammer has a slightly curved face that is designed for driving pickets, starting ice screws and pounding any darn thing that needs it. The Himalayan Ice Hammer has a wrist leash slot in the pick, which further reduces arm fatigue during the upswing. Like the Himalayan Ice Axe this hammer features SMC's patented vibration-dampening connections at the head and spike (Patent #4432404). The black handle is made of extruded aircraft quality aluminum that is powder-coated and oven baked for exceptional durability and comes as either a 50 or 55 centimeter length. This hammer is built for people who spend more time on the mountain than at home working on their honey-do list.
Note that Himalayan hammer length is for the overall length.

A Mighty Hammer
I originally bought this for use and abuse as a second tool. The Himalayan is classified as a "Northwall Hammer." It is solid, well balanced, and possesses a reassuring feel. An excellent piece of kit to pass on to the children.
