Product Description

The nForce ascender is designed to be used in many different applications, primarily alpinism, aid climbing, big wall, spelunking, gear hauling, self-belay and general work-related rope work.

The most versatile ascender on the market:
lightest weight, highest rated strength, greatest ease of use, greatest rope sizes, more rope torque and therefore, less failures.

The nForce ascender is not your 'dads gear' it has a very unique torque system that allows the user to apply all of his gravity driven force downward, into a squeeze.
The harder down on the ascender you pull, the harder it holds the rope.

Some far, Awesome...
My Black Diamond nForce Ascenders are nearly a year old now. They have been up about 190 ropes in all possible weather conditions, Freezing rain, mud, ice and you name it.
They are super light weight and comfy. More importantly though, the handle pivot feature adds an incredible amount of grip on the rope in bad conditions.
These replaced my Petzl Ascension B 17's and let me tell you, i'm never go back. Superior in every way i can think of.
all around a great piece of gear.

functional
it grips great and I have never run into any problems aside from the fact that it can be a bit aggressive on lines but I suppose that is the trade off for a good purchase on the rope.
