Palisades Beach

Palisades Beach

Having bouldered their way to the top of the nearby ledge Catherine & Clementine (mother & daughter) overlook our anchorage between two granite cliffs of the Palisades area on Lake Roosevelt, Columbia River, on the Colville Indian Reservation, Washington State, U.S. In places here the rock is so vertical and the water so deep we can use climbing chocks to secure the boat to the rock wall with fenders against the cliffs to protect her sides.

Thanks...

Appreciate the comment. 1st I've received. Given I'm totally new here I'm not even sure if I have the profile page set up correctly. Oh well, not knowing what I'm doing has rarely deterred me before. Nice profile on your end...

Cadadian flag...

Hey FortMental good catch! My family are natives of Prince Edward Isle, Canada. As part of my families history dating back around the turn of the century early 1800’s I chose to fly a smaller Canadian flag in the upper shrouds (courtesy) with an American flag of honor astern works well for me.
PS hard to see but is you look closely you’ll see the New York State flag for my birth; the Texas State flag for Catherine’s birth and the Washington State flag for our daughter Clementine’s birth. Fly on!

Shiver me timbers, mate !

I was born in Washington state. My family on
my father's side came down from Canada.

Hey, whatever floats your boat! Take care ...

Re: Water/Rock

Thanks for the comment. Yeah, a real nice private beach. We try to anchor there and boulder / dive once every few years.
