How About White Mt's W. Ridge?

by Sean Kenney » Wed May 25, 2011 12:02 am

I was thinking about at least exploring the lower portion of the route the weekend June 3-6. Seems the last few storms weren't supposed to leave much new snow. Pics from 2004 on the route page would suggest that it wouldn't have an enormous amount of snow this late. But that's only one year and perhaps a dry one. If anyone gets a look, I'd love to know what you see. :)

Also, Seems the Barcroft webcam out for good. :|

Snow level is way high, perhaps 12.5-13K. There looks to be fairly good coverage once you get that high, especially on the north side. But the rest will be an evil scralus (too big to be scree, not big enough to be talus) slog to get there. That being said, I had my most incredible day ever there back in March 2010.

It's out my kitchen window, so let me know if you want more deets.
