I hope everything will work out nicely and Fabricio will reach him. Situation is desperate. Fast and light approach to the most difficult climbs sometimes fires back, but this was their choice and I am giving them full support from the bottom of my heart. It was brave and dangerous plan. Only the best climbers can plan and execute something like this. If everything went well we would all praise them as phenomenal climbers!
Regarding this UK blog and discussion ...
It's troubling to me to discuss something like this before Oscar is rescued and brought safely back to BC.
Statement that Tomaz is "more valuable" climber than Oscar is absolute nonsense. If Tomaz can see this comment he would be furious! Also, that Musharraf ordered pilot to rescue Tomaz even if he crash the chopper and sacrifice his own life is amazing insider detail! Pakistani pilots are the best in the world for high altitude actions. Now, they will be blamed that they fly only if "important" climber is in danger? Next will be that they won't fly because woman is stranded, or they flew because stranded climber is Muslim but they left Christian to die, etc.
It's very problematic what those guys posting.
At the end, Pakistani pilots could play crucial role in Oscar's rescue. I hope his life will be saved. I am sure he will climb so many mountains after this ordeal.
