I would very much like them to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Like the can in the shot of the Bugaboos, the organic toilet on the approach to Mt. Shuksan's Sulphide Glacier has one great view of Mt. Baker to the west.

Another great setting while sitting on the pot (composting loo) is below the Qien Sabe glacier in Boston Basin, WA. A veiw of Johannesburg's north face, and Cascade Pass is tough to beat.

I unfortunately didn't take a picture of it, but I availed myself of a particularly scenic loo under the north face of Mt Athabasca. Those canucks apparently love their well placed toilets.

I found this one a bit disturbing:

That's a cooler on the floor. Presumably to keep the beer cold?

re: Mammoth caves, I distinctly remember how remarkable the bathroom was. The interior is all built out of the rock. It was very interesting. Even my daughter commented on it.

Wow, a cooler in a crapper. That is the most disturbing thing I've seen... :D

I can't find any pictures but the view from the outhouse at the Refugio on Orizaba was pretty awesome. I'd toss that in as the best outhouse I've visited in north America.
