I'm just hoping to get out sometime at all....... Can't believe how freakin' busy I've been since I went back to school.

No kidding, my mountaineering has taken a huge halt since school started.

Last winter I saw some cool looking stuff on Sauk Mountain. Fairly accessible and not too committing. Looks like a good winter training ground for alpine.

Summit Chief North Face. Easy, but fairly long approach. You want a long route? 2000+ feet of 45 degree ice+++

Index north peak. Approach easy.

Three Fingers North Face. Upwards of 4000 vertical depending on line.

Personal objective: Mt. Chaval North Ridge/Face

One of my winter objectives again this year is Mt Pugh mid December. I had a ton of fun the day after the first big snow in December and would love to do it again but find a more technical route this time. The powder was deep and the ascent was tough for a day trip but was a highlight from last year for sure. I really want to bag more of the Mountain Loop Highway peaks this winter including the Big 4.

Instead of starting my own new thread for the same purpose I will post here. My friend and I are looking for a very tall peak to climb in the northern cascades during the winter (late February/march). We want something that has moderate mixed up to M7, up to ED1 snow and hard alpine ice up to AI5/6. Something that sticks out as a difficult route in the cascades and has more than 2500 feet of 70 degrees or steeper. It doesn't even have to be a route, just even a peak with this sort of potential would be helpful. I was looking at Index peak and that seems promising but I'd like to have some more options.

Can anyone suggest some routes that meet the criteria?
